Get Into the NOW-Alleviate Anxiety

As a good friend of mine always told me, "This is not an original thought-I learned most of what I learned from others." I learned how to get into the NOW from Dr. Laura Schlessinger today on her show and alleviate anxiety.


My takeaway from her show today on how to alleviate anxiety:

Don't skip meals

Get enough sleep

Don't procrastinate

She gave her 3/3/3 procedure while in the midst of personal anxiety:

1. Look around, locate 3 things and name them out loud

2. Name 3 sounds (either previous or present) and describe them out loud

3. Do 3 body movements-move your arms, do a deep knee bend, bend over

Dr. Laura said, after doing these 3 things, your anxiety should be gone!


I recently had a bout with an upper respiratory illness, and I couldn't taste a thing, so I ate very little for a few days. I found myself not getting better and still not eating. This morning, before listening to her show, I ate breakfast and even lunch, as light as they were and took care of myself.


Then listening to her show shortly after lunch, she addressed anxiety and taking care of yourself. Is she listening into my thoughts??? The key to eating breakfast, especially if you are still in the workplace (or working remote and working), is making it simple and full of protein. Here's one of my favorites:

KETO PROTEIN BREAKFAST


INGREDIENTS

2 eggs, boiled and shelled

1 sm ripe avocado, cut and inside scooped out

2 - 3 Tbsp full fat cottage cheese

1/4 tsp salt

1/4 tsp black pepper


INSTRUCTIONS

STEP 1

Cut and mash boiled eggs in a small bowl.

STEP 2

Add avocado and continue to mash and mix with a fork.

STEP 3

Add salt, pepper, and cottage cheese.

STEP 4

Eat alone or with low carb wheat toast, or make a sandwich with it. You can even add

cooked bacon.
